If you don't see your question here, just call us — Marisol will answer it on the phone in less time than it takes to type into a contact form.

How much does tree removal cost in Tampa?

Standard sectional removal in Tampa Bay runs $485-$2,400 depending on tree size, species, access difficulty, and proximity to structures. Crane-assisted removals on larger trees run $1,800-$6,500. The biggest variable is access — a 70-foot live oak in an open yard is half the cost of the same tree behind a privacy fence with overhead power lines. We quote in person, on-site, before any work scheduling.

How fast can you respond to storm damage?

For existing maintenance customers during named hurricane events: same-day to next-day, even if we're slammed. For new customers calling cold during a named event: typically 4-7 days. For non-storm urgent work (hazardous tree leaning toward house, tree on a structure outside of storm season): 24-48 hours dispatched.

Why won't you "top" my tree?

Topping is the practice of cutting the upper canopy off a tree to reduce its size — and it's also the single fastest way to kill a healthy tree. The wounds never heal properly (no leaf cover means no photosynthesis to drive recovery), the regrowth is structurally weak (it grows from epicormic shoots, not from the original branch system), and the tree typically dies within 5-10 years. ISA standards prohibit topping. If a "tree guy" quotes you topping, that's the tell — they're not arborists. We'll propose ISA-spec crown reduction instead, which achieves the same goal without compromising the tree.

Will my homeowners insurance cover this?

Storm damage from named events — usually yes, after deductible. Tree removal of a healthy tree because you don't like it — no, that's homeowner expense. Removal of a dead/dying tree before it falls — usually no, but some carriers cover it as preventive maintenance. Removal AFTER it falls and damages something — depends on what it damaged. We work directly with most major Tampa Bay carriers on claim documentation.

Do you pull tree removal permits?

Yes. Hillsborough and Pinellas counties both require permits for removal of certain protected species (live oak, sand live oak, mahogany, magnolia, others) above certain trunk diameters. We pull the permit, coordinate the city/county arborist visit if required, and handle all the paperwork. Permit cost is passed through at city's stated fee. Some HOAs additionally require their own arborist sign-off — we can do that too with our ISA cert.

Annual maintenance plans — what do they cover?

Standard plan: one annual visit (typically May/June for pre-hurricane prep) covering pruning of all significant trees, palm frond cleanup, deadwood removal, and a written tree health snapshot. Priority dispatch during named storm events. Locked-in pricing on emergency response. Most plans run $480-$2,200/year depending on property size and tree count. About 40% of our annual revenue comes from these plans.
