Ironclad HVAC technician taking refrigerant pressure readings with manifold gauges — a real diagnostic, not a sales pitch
East Tampa · 2025
Why Ironclad

A proper diagnostic. Not a sales pitch.

Most Tampa HVAC companies send a tech who's paid on commission. You get a fast diagnosis, a scary total, and a pitch for a full system. We don't work that way. Our techs are paid hourly — they're graded on the fix holding, not on what they sold you today.

  • NATE-certified on every truck Every Ironclad tech holds a NATE certification — the industry's hardest exam. Not a weekend course, not a sticker.
  • Manual J & D on every install Before we quote a system, we run a load calc. Oversized AC short-cycles and costs you more. Undersized never catches up. Correct size the first time.
  • Flat-rate, written pricing You get a number before we turn a screw. No "it's more complicated than we thought" at the end. What we quote is what you pay.
  • We label your thermostat Sticker on the side of the air handler with the filter size, date serviced, and our number. Small thing. Tells you we actually showed up.
What We Do

Full-stack HVAC. Nothing subbed.

From a 2am capacitor failure to a full ductwork redesign on a 1950s bungalow, we handle the full stack. Every tech is NATE-certified. Every install is Manual J sized. Every invoice is itemized.

From the Owner

I've been in 6,800 attics. I know what breaks.

I started Ironclad in 2010 after eight years running service for a national HVAC chain. I was tired of watching good techs get pushed into upselling. The company paid its guys on percentage, so of course they recommended the most expensive fix every time. That's not how we work.

Today we're eight NATE-certified techs on eight trucks. My wife Stacy runs the office. My brother-in-law Luis runs our install department. We dispatch across Tampa, Brandon, Riverview, and down to South Shore. When a tech rolls up at your house, they're not rotating in from a staffing pool — they work for me, and I know them by name.

If something's wrong with your system, we'll tell you what it is in plain English. If a repair makes sense, we repair. If a replacement makes sense, we explain why and quote both. You decide.

How It Works

Four steps. Done right.

01

Book online or call

Pick a two-hour window. Get a text 30 minutes out with the tech's name, photo, and license number.

02

Full diagnostic

$89 diagnostic — waived on any approved repair. We check the unit, ducts, thermostat, static pressure, and airflow.

03

Flat-rate quote

You get a line-item quote before any work. If a replacement is a better call than the repair, we'll quote both side by side.

04

Fix it. Label it.

We do the work, test it, clean up, label your thermostat with the filter size and our number. Then you get a PDF report.

What Clients Say

312 five-star reviews.

Most of our work comes from referrals and maintenance contract renewals. A few recent notes from people whose AC we've kept running.

AC died at 9pm on a Saturday in August. Marcus had Daniel at our place by 7am Sunday. Replaced the capacitor, cleaned the coils, charged us $238 total. A competitor had quoted me $1,800 for a 'complete fix' two days earlier. Customer for life.

Ironclad handles HVAC for our three dental offices. Angela runs our maintenance schedule, catches failures before they cost us a day of patients. Response time on emergency calls is consistently under 90 minutes. Worth every penny of the service agreement.

Full system replacement on our 1954 Bungalow in South Tampa. Luis ran the Manual J, redesigned the ductwork for the old plaster walls, and finished in three days. Utility bill dropped 38% the first month. Work was cleaner than I expected from any trade.
